Global Warming Report Shows Montana Carbon Dioxide Emissions Up 202% Between 1960 and 2001
On Tuesday, June 20, MontPIRG released The Carbon Boom: National and State Trends In Global Warming Pollution Since 1960. The report shows that Montana's global warming pollution has significantly increased since 1960, and that most of that increase can be attributed to coal-fired power plants (making up 79% of the increase).

Now, with more coal-fired power plants being built and proposed, we are facing yet another carbon boom. Of this dangerous trend, MontPIRG executive director Matt Leow said, "When you find yourself in a hole, the first thing you should do is stop digging."
